Dirt Crawl Space

Dirt crawl spaces beneath your home are typically damp year-round due to water evaporation from the high-humidity ground below. Water is constantly leaving the ground and entering your home through the dirt floor as well as moisture being trapped in the porous blocks, especially without a high-functioning drainage system in place. Due to this, it is especially important to periodically examine crawl spaces for evidence of any dampness or mold growth. Mold infestations in the framing of your basement may lead to growth spread in other parts of your home or even lead to the decomposition of beams and other weight-bearing walls crucial to the stability of your home.

Creating a “conditioned crawl space” is the key to a safe environment under your home’s living space. This can be achieved with Basement Pro’s DPR drainage system and encapsulation of the floor and walls.  The encapsulation material is a fiber-reinforced flexible membrane strong enough to be walked on and capable of transforming dirty, damp crawl spaces into clean, dry storage places. It exceeds all ASTM E-1745 requirements for a vapor and moisture barrier and is required when constructing closed or conditioned crawl spaces.
